3 Bed 5 Bath Luxury House Rental

Location:
Barra de Navidad, Jalisco, Mexican Riviera, Mexico

Accommodations:
House, 3 Bedrooms, 5 Baths

If a beautiful luxurious home on the canal is what you are looking for, “Casa Maggie” is it. Situated in the center of the middle canal (the most desirable of the 3 canals) “Casa Maggie” is among the nicest homes in Barra de Navidad. This new 3 story, 3800 sq foot, home was constructed with the latest in technology, utilizing cold steel and concrete, similar to that of Maui, Hawaii, which is of the same geographical type/zone of this area.

Unlike a typical Mexican concrete brick/block house, this weather/earthquake proof home is fully insulated, deflecting heat, rather than retaining it within the walls. The home was designed by a popular Guadalajara architect, incorporates lots of rounded corners, nooks and air-flow throughout the home, providing additional comfort. The main floor contains a beautiful, fully equipped kitchen, with all American GE appliances (Fridge, Oven, Microwave, Dishwasher), flat screen TV, as well as a center island with a Jenn-air cook top/grill, all amongst 1 piece granite counters and hand crafted Caoba (Mexican Mahogany) cabinets. Off the kitchen there is a small private outside breakfast/reading atrium, a laundry room with a Washer Dryer, a canal view dining room and separate canal view living room looking up to a spectacular lighted cupola. There is also a ½ bathroom on the main floor.

The second floor has a family TV room, two large master bedrooms, one facing the canal, each with small balconies, flat screen TV, custom bathrooms, with showers and tubs. The main master bathroom has a custom Japanese soaking tub. This floor also has a separate ½ bath, a 3rd room, with a twin bed and an elliptical exercise machine.

The 3rd floor is the activity center and highlight of the house, with a second TV, entertaining room, ½ bath and bar area. Two large sliding Caoba wood pocket doors open to a spectacular outdoor entertainment area, with a pool table (under a palapa roof), plenty of seating area, with views of the whole canal, part of the lagoon and the Grand Bay Resort.

Features also include gated street access, with parking. The canal side of the home features a wonderful, large infinity pool, palapa canal side sitting area, barbeque area and its own lighted dock. One can fish right off the dock for small snapper, snook and barracuda. This home is wired for music, with ceiling flush mounted speakers throughout, satellite surround sound TV and wireless internet, security gate camera, with 2 iPod docking stations and custom control touch panels throughout the house.

About Costalegre

Miles upon miles of palm trees line the land just inside the coastal shores. Jungle covered mountains border golden sand beaches. This area is one of the most exclusive areas to get away from it all in Mexico, where celebrities often come to get away from prying eyes and camera lenses. People who travel here aren't generally here for the night life, where it tends to be very quiet and peaceful after dusk. They come here to relax and/or be pampered. The area is a tropical paradise from October to June when there is little or no rain, known for its breathtaking sunsets, warm deserted beaches, seclusion and serenity.

There is no doubt that Costalegre has the most outstanding sea shores in the Mexican Pacific Coast. To visit this area is to discover a virgin beach coast, rainforests, creeks and rivers, mountains and islands.

The Unique Benefits of this House

We love this location. You can walk to town in 5 minutes, and the people are friendly. It is very safe - we have had no problems. We spent 5 years looking for the right place to settle, and when we came to Barra 5 years ago, we knew this was the place. Watching the boats go up and down the canal while floating in the pool with a beverage, listening to music. Also, you can go up to the third level and "play" while having a great view. The gourmet kitchen allows you to cook, and fresh seafood is plentiful in Barra (and cheap!).

We have cute little bars, many grocery stores and taco stands as well as fine dining. The Grand Bay Hotel is right across the lagoon from us, and you can take a water taxi to town, or to the Grand Bay Hotel (golfing, eating, rated the #1 resort in Mexico by the Travel Channel). We also have snorkeling, boogie boarding, surfing and all of the fun things the beaches of Mexico offer.
